On Friday, the 2013 Monsoon Season announced its arrival in Las Vegas with a spectacular lightning show.
The view from my backyard was dynamite.

Near Strip on West Sahara, we lost power for 5 hours. No fun! Fortunately, the heavy rains brought the temperature down to around 82 degrees with a breeze outside so it was reasonably tolerable.
Holy smokes! I didn't know the power outage lasted that long--a work pal of mine lives Downtown & he said he felt like he was back in Miami. :)I think we lucked out up here in the western part of town.
